![]() My old drafting chair gave it up. Of course, it's been bashed around for years, just like its predecessors, but I'm getting to the age when I don't like to replace my gear. Anyhow, since I work at an ol' style light table, I still work from a drafting chair. (I have two other chairs for the computer stations in the studio) When I had (and I mean HAD) to replace it, I took a chance and went to the drafting supply place that was popular when I first moved to Memphis in '83. Woo. They don't stock ANYTHING any more. Happy to order stuff, but drafting of all kinds has changed so much since then that I guess they're barely hanging on. Computers, you know, did that to them. They've adapted. They can output just about anything- huge color and all. But you can't buy a drafting chair from them. I went to OfficeMax, where I got the last one ten years or more ago. And I think this new one is from the same manufacturer. It might have been something different, except that OfficeMax only carries ONE kind of drafting chair. One. Next time, maybe I'll plan ahead and order something really nice. Nahhhh. Greg |
