Fall Meeting Registration

Hope your summer has been fun and productive! And now it's time to plan for attending our Fall meeting, November 12-14 in Raleigh, NC. It will be one of the more memorable meetings with our joint venture with The NC Museum of Art's Norman Rockwell Exhibit, and our gang doing "The Lighter Side of Rockwell" panel discussion. On display will be an amazing collection of Rockwell's original art! And, as this is turning out to be such a rare opportunity, we are again inviting the NCS at large to join us for this event!

Details, itinerary, and electronic registration are on my website at http://www.jptoonist.com/SEC2010Fall/SECNCS2010FallMeeting.html .

Please do this as soon as possible because that weekend is also NC State University's Homecoming and their activities will impact hotel reservations. And speaking of which, as the Museum is so graciously hosting us for all of our business/panel discussion events, we are letting everyone choose their own hotel and price range to accommodate any budget. A list and interactive map locating museum, hotels, and restaurants is on my site with hotlinks to each for easy reservation. I would recommend the Clarion for the best central location and after-hours socializing.

At the business meeting, a couple of items will be where to hold next year's meeting, and also election and/or re-election of officers. So put that in your thinking cap.

It's going to be a fun weekend of art, fine dining, music, and catching up with one another! Plus, there are lots of museums and activities nearby for those of you bringing families. We will again have a silent auction, also at the museum, which means the public at large can really drive the bids up. And proceeds will be split between the NCS Milt Gross Fund and the NC Museum of Art. Please mail your donated art for the auction to me at my address below by October 29 at the latest.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Fraternally,

Jack -   Chairman, National Cartoonists Society Southeast Chapter
