The Fall Meeting 2007

I'm posting this here, since I don't know how many people are restricted from some of the other forum sections.

I've been delayed posting about the meeting since I'm chasing deadlines both because of Myrtle Beach and the Ohio State Festival Of Cartoon Art in a couple of days. Whoo, busy.

Thanks again to the Ruisis for all their hard work getting things set up for The Great Cartoonist Myrtle Beach Assault! They were great, and that was a fantastic restaurant choice on Saturday night. On behalf of the chapter, I mailed Amy Lago a nice Myrtle Beach sweatshirt with a sailboat on it (Amy's a sailor) I hope everyone enjoyed her talk and learned something they either wanted to learn or something that they never knew there was to learn. We need to think up, purchase and mail Don Orehek a fine gift also. Art suggested a helmet or hat of some kind, but something tells me that a Kaiser helmet is a little pricey for us. Suggestions, please!
Thanks to our I.T. geniuses who got the digital projector working during the meeting. And thanks to Bruce for both reporting on the V.A. visits and posting such nice photos- though I think one of those sunset shots was, in fact, an old airbrushed T-shirt design. I mean, look at those colors- they just don't occur in nature.

Thanks for going easy on me at the business meeting, everyone. Now, if there's something you'd like discuss in earnest, let's do it here in the forums.
Here's a start:
•We still need one of our illustrious NCS members to volunteer to be our new treasurer. If someone doesn't volunteer fairly soon, I'll be making rude demands of everyone in turn. I'll start with people that seem either the most trustworthy, or who live far enough from large communities that it will make frivilous spending difficult.
•We need to chatter back and forth a bit about what sort of group project is really feasible- whether it's a chapter-wide comic book, cartoon collection, activity book for adults or children, poster or print... chime in now, no complaining allowed later.

Next year's meeting is in Chattanooga, so long as Mike Cartwright is still willing to do the legwork. It's been suggested that we have another silent auction and art swap. Any suggestions, anyone? Michael has veto power on anything whose logistics seem too nuts.

That's all that comes to mind at the moment. Everyone chime in about anything you can recall of the meeting, and what you want us to do for the next year or so.
